Covid Setback
For the last few weeks households in Victoria could have 20 people inside their house, however over the last few weeks Victoria’s Corona Virus infection numbers were slowly increasing. On the 20th of June, Victoria recorded the highest daily total of new cases in two months. 25 Cases were recorded on the 20th of June and Premier Daniel Andrews said that half of all locally-acquired cases in the state since April had been transmitted through family gatherings.
From midnight on Sunday the 21st of June, the number of visitors Victorians can have in their home will go back from 20 down to five people, outdoor gatherings have gone from 20 people down to 10 people. The plan to allow restaurants and pubs to have 50 patrons from Monday has been delayed for three weeks. This Covid setback will take a huge impact on Melbourne DJ Hire and the entertainment industry in Victoria. Just the other day Melbourne DJ Hire had our busiest day of enquires because people were starting to plan their parties, this new Covid setback will bring more uncertainty to the public and to an already troubled industry.
While the banning of larger gatherings at households might be a good idea as social distancing rules cannot be enforced behind closed doors, it is a lot easier to enforce social distancing rules and have more control at a venue. Venues and contractors will ensure all surfaces are clean, each person will have to have a 1.5 meter distance from one another still keeping within the rules. Most venues, will also be offering hand santiser to guests on arrivals and contractors will have procedures in place to keep patrons safe.
Hopegully this Covid setback will only be a short term delay for Victoria to get back a normal and safe life. If we all do the right thing for a short time we can go back to planning events and gatherings for later this year.
