At Melbourne DJ hire we have seen some funny things throughout the years. Too much funny antic to record but here are a few that stand out at some jobs.
When Michael Jackson’s Thriller comes on and we see all the different thriller moves. It is a great song to get everyone from old to young on the dance floor. But it is more fun to play this song when you know people have had a few drinks in them so they won’t be shy to break out the moves. A great Melbourne Dj will always know when is the right time to play thriller.
When the Nutbush comes on and you can get a whole crowd of people dancing. It is the funniest thing when you see some really drunk people ‘trying’ to do the Nutbush and getting their kicks all over the place. Melbourne DJ hires favourite nutbush people are the ones who don’t know the nutbush and try to do the nutbush and stumble. Drunk people trying to concentrate and learn and also move their body at the same time can be the most amusing thing in the world.
Macarena … I love watching the people that don’t know the Macarena learn on the spot. The ladies love this song and the mums and aunties drag their teenage kids to the dance floor to dance, the cringe look on their kids face is hilarious. The drunk ones that dance to it and keep turning the wrong way is a pleasure to watch, the drunk dad and uncle always have a good and the funky grandma usually gets dragged up to have a go as well.
But of my favourite funny dancing moments was when a clients 50 year old uncle went into the photo booth with his wife, then 3 seconds later single ladies comes on and he runs to the dance floor and breaks out the most hilarious moves. His poor wife was stuck in the photo booth by herself. When I asked why he run out of the photobooth she rolled her eyes and said, “yeah… single ladies is his favourite song.”
But the best part of the night for Melbourne Djs and photobooth attendants is seeing everyone on the dancefloor having a great time. Everyone is dancing together on the dancefloor, introducing friends, meeting new people and of course seeing a full dance floor makes us know we are doing a good job.
