How to start a dancefloor
Melbourne Dj Hire are hired for many types of events, but the one thing all these events have in common is that they all require their guests to have a dance. Whether it be an awards presentation or a 70th birthday party, our clients would love to see their guests on the dancefloor. So we decided to make a post on how to start a dancefloor.
When it is a seated event like a gala dinner or a corporate job it can be hard to get guests up to dance. A few tricks we can use is to ask the organiser to arrange for a manager or boss to get up and do a dance with their staff and usually that really gets the guests in a fun and wild mood seeing their coworker have a dance. Sometimes we work with photographers who may want to organise a group photo of all the guests on the dancefloor and at that time when all the guests are up standing is the perfect time to drop a very popular song to get everyone moving.
At a wedding, the best time to get everyone on the dancefloor is after the bride and groom have their first dance. The Melbourne Dj or MC will announce everyone to come up on the dancefloor to join the couple and that is when the party really kicks off.
When it is a private party like a birthday or engagement party, our Melbourne Dj would encourage guests to make song requests. We also try to play a mix of popular songs from every genre so that everyone gets to hear a song they like. We find that when the guests are of an older age group and there are lots of seats and comfortable spots for guests to sit and relax it is harder for them to get up and dance. So it really helps if the hosts are up for an announcement. The Melbourne Dj would wish the birthday person or couple a happy birthday and invite guests onto the dancefloor to have a dance and hopefully more people will stay on the dancefloor for more dancing.
