Working at costume parties
Themed parties are the best in terms of atmosphere.
We were at an ANZ staff party where the theme was to dress up as a character that’s name starts with the same letter as yours. This was by far the best costume party we have worked at. There was a Pharaoh, a fairy floss, a PAC man, there were work teams dressed in theme a super Mario group, a zombie doctor and zombie nurse theme, transformer theme, a Mexican group and much more. It was amazing to see all the effort everyone put into their costumes and it really made it an amazing party. everyone was mingling and a costume party is the best ice breaker ever!
My favourite was a marshmallow costume was made with wadding or a soft toy stuffing and then spray painted pink and glued onto her dress, the wadding kept falling off the whole night which was really funny. The guy dressed like a transformer kept taking his mask off because it was too hot and by the end of the party he was just wearing what was under his costume!
We were very lucky to provide a photobooth for that function to capture all the amazing costumes on the night. For costume parties we would definitely recommend hiring the open booth. Open booths are great for a few reasons, you can fit so many more people in them, we have fit over 20 people in an open photobooth before. The other reason why it is great for a costume party is because you can get a photo of everyone’s costume! If it is an enclosed booth you mostly just see the face and shoulders.
Melbourne DJ Hire and Beauty and the Booth love costume parties, we also put on a something small like a little hat or something like that to fit in with everyone else.
