Afternoon Events

A bulk of Melbourne DJ Hire’s parties and events are usually held at night, however because of the Covid pandemic and all these lockdowns, a number of our clients have had to postpone their events. Everyone is in the same situation, where they need to reschedule their event to a different date. Venues who only have one or 2 function spaces cannot provide all their clients with an evening event space as they are so backlogged with bookings. A lot of venues are offering their clients the space in the afternoon or they are suggestion to clients to hold their events on a Thursday or Sunday which is are less popular days for an event. 
Afternoon events can be a great success, there is plenty of light outdoors so it would be great for some family portraits or even an engagement shoot. Usually, an afternoon event is pretty laid back and chill where the attendees enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon with great food and drinks, there is occasionally some dancing but guests usually sit and chat with one another. 
Corporate functions that are held in the afternoon are usually training or team building days, these functions don’t usually require a Melbourne DJ but a photobooth is quite popular for an added element of fun to the event. Some afternoon events for corporate jobs could start in the afternoon where the staff are going through some formalities and presentations, then the end of the day could be a casual dinner and drinks party.
So if your event has been postponed and your venue only has availability for an afternoon event on your preferred date, the function could still be a success and your attendees can still have a great time. Entertainment contractors usually have a lower rate during the day and it could potentially save you a bit of money.
