This is a very fun blog post if you are a foodie! Melbourne DJ Hire have worked at every type of event under the sun and music is definitely one of the most important factors. But the next most important factor is the food you serve your guests. Everyone loves party food and some event organisers get really creative with their catering options.
Just a few months ago, one of our Melbourne DJs worked at a wedding where the bride and groom booked a hot chips buffet towards the end of the night. The concept came from the idea that people love eating greasy food after consuming alcohol, so the venue set up a little buffet station with a range of different types of hot chips and also included a lot of fun toppings like crispy bacon, sour cream cheese, different salts and seasoning. Guests really got stuck into it and a number of people were enjoying their hot chip creation on the dancefloor.
Another fun catering option we have seen are DIY taco or pizza stations. There will be a table buffet set up with proteins, veggies and condiments and guests will line up and pick their ingredients and make their ideal meal. The pizza station had a woodfired pizza oven at the end and the staff member helped the guests cook their pizzas. These interactive activities really bring your guests together, whether it be bonding over making food or even sharing their creations, it is something different to add to your event.
The most popular catering option we have seen is the portable ice cream and gelato stations. All guests, especially the kids love it when the ice cream cart is brought out and they can each pick their own flavours and toppings. There is something nostalgic about ice cream at a party.
Melbourne DJ Hire know that music and food are a crucial part of the success to an event. So, if you would like a different approach to the catering options at your event, then we hope these interactive food ideas have inspired you.
