Involving your Guests at a Party
Our team work at a number of different types of parties with a varying level of energy, some events are based around a sit-down meal and some events are a cocktail set up where all guests are up standing and roaming around the room catching up with friends and family from the get go. Parties can be a little overwhelming for some guests, they may not know a lot of people and might be more comfortable seated at a table or lounge.
Over the weekend Melbourne Dj Hire sent our Melbourne Dj and photobooth to a 21st birthday at an RSL and there was a large mix of different guests of all ages, some were the birthday girls friends, others were relatives and family friends. But the way the hosts organised the party, all guests got involved and had a lot of fun on the night. The clients had booked a photobooth for the guests to take photos in and usually at a sit down dinner it is a quiet night for the photobooth attendant. Guests are comfortable in the their own seats and are happy to stay at their tables chatting to their friends, but the hosts asked all guests to take a photo with the birthday girl in the photobooth and even asked everyone to write a message in the guests book. The mum also organised a corkboard so that guests could take more photos and pin their photo up on the display. So if you ever want to organise a photobooth at your event, a good way to involve your guests to take a photo is to ask them directly to take some photos with the hosts.
Another way of involving your guests at a party is to physically escort them up or ask them to have a dance with you on the dancefloor. Our Melbourne Dj started playing some real bangers that everyone knew like the Macarena, Nutbush and Uptown Funk and when those hits were on the birthday girl dragged all her friends up to have a dance with her and then also asked her aunts and uncles to come up and have a dance as well. It ended up being a great night and even though it was mainly a sit down dinner, a lot of people ended up on the dancefloor.
