Over the weekend our Melbourne Dj stepped into the vibrant world of an Indian wedding and it was full of colour and traditions. As a DJ, being a part of such an event isn’t just about playing music, it’s about curating an experience that reflects the essence of Indian culture while keeping the energy high and the dance floor alive.
The sight of guests in colourful and dazzling saris, just brings everyone’s mood up and it naturally makes everyone want to celebrate and dance. The air is filled with laughter and joy, as family and friends come together to celebrate love and tradition.
Dance is at the heart of every Indian celebration, and weddings are no exception. From choreographed performances by the bridesmaids and groomsmen to the couple’s special first dance, the dance floor is alive with energy and rhythm. The bridal party and the bride and groom would have spent weeks rehearsing these amazing dance numbers, and they often incorporate a number of Bollywood moves that captivate the audience and leave them cheering for more.
Our Melbourne DJs role is to keep the momentum going, and as soon as these choreographed numbers are finished we will start the dancefloor with a popular banger that gets everyone up their seats into the dancefloor. We also transitioning between popular Indian tracks and contemporary hits that appeal to all the other non Indian guests as well, so that work friends or school friends can also enjoy the dancefloor. The mix of traditional tracks and modern songs ensures that everyone finds their groove on the dance floor, creating moments of everyone to enjoy together.
One of the highlights of the evening was the open photobooth, guests loved capturing photos in their extravagant saris with their friends and family. It’s a chance to pause and reflect on the beauty of the moment, amidst the whirlwind of festivities and also have a memento to keep from the night.
