Wedding Stories
It has sure been an interesting couple of years. If you thinks the last couple of years has been stressful then spare a thought for couples who have wanted have their weddings during covid. Just the other night Melbourne Dj Hire finally got to play for a couple who has postponed their wedding 4 times. For this client the 5th time was a charm.
Weddings during COVID can be unpredictable, there are border closures, quarantine rules and restrictions could come in at any moment.
These clients originally booked one of our Melbourne Djs for a wedding in April of 2020 at the start of the pandemic. Then that wedding got postponed to September when there was another lockdown. Then they had rescheduled their wedding for the weekend of Valentine’s Day in 2021 and we all remember what happened then. Then finally another postponement for October 2021 when there were still restrictions in place.
The couple had lost all hope and wanted to cancel the plans all together. However they pushed through and luckily their venue had availability on a Wednesday night in March and they took it. Weekday weddings are definitely a tough one to pull off as a lot of the guests would have to take the day off work and might also have to leave earlier as they would have work the next day.
The couple also had a few guests come from interstate and from New Zealand. Unfortunately one family member based on New Zealand couldn’t make it to Melbourne. A couple of family members in Queensland and New South Wales also couldn’t make it due to the floods. Even though a few guests couldn’t make it to the wedding it was still a great night with all guests still celebrating the couple a d their love for each other and just happy that the day has finally come.
The Melbourne DJ played a lot of tracks from the 70s and 80s as the couple had a lot of their parents friends at their wedding. There was also a photobooth set up at the wedding so a lot of the guests could take a photo home. Overall the wedding was a huge success and we are sure it was worth the wait and a relief that it got to go ahead.
