Lifted Restrictions

Melbourne has unfortunately been put under another lockdown. Every time our state is put under one of these lockdowns, Melbourne Djs, photographers, entertainers and everyone in the tourism, party and events industry will lose 100% of their work capacity. Even though Melbourne is on track for the end of lockdown on Tuesday the 27th of July, the restrictions will not ease enough to allow the businesses like ours to operate.
In every single lockdown, the government has slowly and safely lifted restrictions in stages. At first, all the retail stores and restaurants will be opened, then small scale events of 20-50 people are allowed and then if there are no more local transmissions then restrictions can be fully lifted. After the lockdown we all went through in early June it took the government almost 2 months to finally lift all restrictions. Melbourne Dj Hire were prepared for an extremely busy week on the week of July 16th but unfortunately all 20 events of that weekend had to be cancelled or postponed.
We are all expecting lifted restrictions on Tuesday the 27th of July. However Melbourne Dj Hire won’t be expecting any bookings until the middle of August. Once the events and party scene is back on track there are so many jobs lined up to go ahead that the rest of the year is looking very busy.
A lot of clients are now taking Thursday and Sunday bookings to at least confirm a venue. Venues are definitely inundated with all the different events that wish to book, some venues are even introducing set time slots in order to hold 2 events on the same day. So if you have plans to organise an event for later this year, it is best that you book in to confirm your date soon as Melbourne Dj Hire will have limited availability for Friday and Saturday nights.
