50th Bday

Over the weekend, Melbourne DJ Hire sent one of our most experienced Melbourne DJs, to play for a 50th Birthday. The client also booked a roaming photographer to walk around the space and take some photos of the birthday girl and her guests. The birthday was held upstairs at a local bar on a busy street in Melbourne South Eastern suburb of Brighton. The space only catered to 50 people but there were over 60 guests at this event. So it ended up being quite cozy.

As the space was so small and tight, the client had ask our Dj if he could only set up 1 speaker to save some space. But our Melbourne Dj still set up 2 speakers for a small space, this is because when there are so many people packed in the one room, and with so many people talking, more sound power is needed to project the music. Towards the start of the night, the client requested some upbeat pop and rnb music played on a lower volume so that the guests could chat and catch up. But towards the end of the night, after speeches and the cake was cut, our Melbourne DJ started playing the dance floor hits. It was very lucky that 2 speakers were set up because it was the perfect sound set up for the birthday girl and her friends to dance while the rest of the room were chatting and having drinks.

Our roaming photographer also had a challenge with space at the 50th Birthday. Because the room was so tight, a wide angle lens had to be used in order for our photographer to capture the guests and their group shots. They also had to try and man-oeuvre through the crowded space and keep an eye on the birthday girl in case she wanted a photo with a particular guest.

It ended being a great night and guests seemed to really enjoy the cosines and atmosphere of the 50th Birthday. Melbourne DJ Hire would actually recommend hiring venue that  is on on smaller size to give more of a lively party vibe rather than trying to fill a large venue and having it feel rather empty and cold.
