Recently Melbourne Dj hire’s photographer was working at a wedding where the clients had hired a band to provide the music for the event.

The band would perform a handful of tracks and then in between their breaks one of the band members would connect their iPad and then play music from that. The song selection was fine and they played some popular tracks that people enjoyed but there was a hiccup during the dancing where the introduction to the song was very long and there was silence on the dance floor.

When there are people on the dance floor you want to them to get excited about the next song. When there is a 10 second pause there is just a group of people standing on the dance floor not moving and that is when they walk off the dance floor and sit back down at their table.

There was also a technical issue where one of the speakers stopped working and the band member who was looking after the iPad and the music in between the break didn’t know how to fix it. Luckily her band member who looked after the speakers was close by and rushed over to fix the issue.

So if you are looking for a band for your wedding instead of a Melbourne Dj, just keep in mind that these little issues could come up throughout the night. It may cost a little extra to hire a Dj as well as a band but at least Melbourne Dj hire will take care of everything in between the breaks and there will be no hiccups.
