Winter Events
With the weather cooling down in Melbourne it is getting harder to venture out. When it comes to planning a party it is even harder to decide where to have it and how to keep your guests warm. Outdoor terraces, rooftop venues and backyard parties will not be as popular in next few months due to the cold weather. But there will still be weddings, engagement parties and birthdays to celebrate, so how do you go about planning a winter event?
The most important factor to consider is the venue. A nice space with adequate heating is ideal, some venues and pubs even have fireplaces which is ideal for a winter event. Guests can park their cars close by to the venue and head inside to remove their coats and enjoy the comfortable space. Some venues who have large outdoor areas also set up fire pits or portable gas heaters for their functions.
Some families hold their parties at home in their backyard as well and that is a nice option too, however it is important to make sure their is adequate shelter in case of rain. There are a number of party marquees you could hire to set up around your backyard and it is also a good idea to hire some portable heaters to place around the space. Our Melbourne DJs have worked at a number of winter events in backyards and if they are organised well, they can be a lot of fun. Guests will usually huddle around the heaters and have a catch and drink and when the party space warms up people will get on the dancefloor to have some fun.
There have also been some winter events where organisers have set up some comfortable lounges and seats with pillows and blankets. Guests can have a seat with their drinks and have a chat with their friends. Other events have set up a hot chocolate and coffee station so guests can have a warm drink. So if you are planning an event in the winter months, there are a lot of creative options to keep your guests warm and comfortable.
