Party Boats

Melbourne DJ Hire have worked at some pretty funky venues, we have worked at rooftop bars, underground nightclubs and even pop up spaces in shopping centres and parks. One very cool place we often work at are party boats. There are a number of party boats in Melbourne, some located in the docklands area and some located on the Yarra River. A lot of event planners choose party boats for their event because it has that wow factor and it is something different compared to a normal function venue. 

The one thing that is very important with a party boat event is making sure all the contractors and guests arrive on time before the boat needs to take off. There have been times when the boat has had to wait an extra half and hour for the late comers and one time, the boat had to turn around and head back to the dock to collect more guests who had been held up in traffic! 

The great thing about having your event on a party boat is that all your guests are contained onto the same space, you don’t have a group that ventures out to have a smoke or a walk around the block. All the guests can also enjoy the different activities on the boat as well. For example, most party boats have 2 levels, a lower level that is usually for the dance floor where our Melbourne Djs set up and a bar and a higher level that is for food, seats and games or a photobooth. 

Party boats are great places to also have themed events, our Melbourne DJs have worked on a boat cruise that is James Bond themed, Casino themed and even a Great Gatsby theme. These dress up parties make guests even more excited and plan their outfits weeks in advance and the photos end up looking great.
