Song Requests
Melbourne Dj Hire encourage our clients to provide a list of song requests for their event. We ask clients to send us about 20-30 songs they would like us to play throughout the night. Then from that list our Melbourne Dj can get a good idea of what songs they can play for the remainder of the night. Some clients even send us a list of song they don’t want us to play. For example they don’t want us to play the cheesy songs like the Macarena, or the Chicken Dance song or barbie girl. Some clients even request that our Melbourne Djs don’t take requests from guests as sometimes guests may request a song that may not work with the crown or they could request that no one else will know and then a lot of people may walk off the dance floor.
The best types of songs to get the mood going for some dancing at a party is popular upbeat music and depending on the average age of the crowd the selection of music can vary. If a majority of the crowd is of the older generation then songs from the 70s and 80s would be perfect. If the crown is younger then songs from the 90s and naughties would be perfect.
The genre of music is also important. Some of the older guests could like dancing to rock and roll music where as some other crowds will like the 70s pop like the Jackson 5 and ABBA. Some guests may like the classic Aussie tunes from John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes where other guest may like the popular Rnb tracks from Usher and Beyoncé.
Whatever music you would like at your party, our Melbourne Djs will play all the music that our clients requests. Some songs may work better at the start of the night as a background mood music and some of the more popular tracks can be played at the end of night to get people dancing.
