Engagement Parties
Melbourne DJ Hire recently worked at an engagement party at the magical Overnewton Castle. It was quite an extravagant party with close to 100 guests, the bride and groom wanted to dance, however due to restrictions they were unable to. An open dancefloor is not in the plan for engagement parties at the moment due to all the rules related to gatherings, however dancing outdoors is still permitted.
The venue and the Melbourne DJ worked together to come up with a solution. The windows and doors were open to the back garden and the Melbourne DJ turned his speakers around to face the garden and the guests headed out to the garden to dance. The engagement party was also held on a warm night so most of the guests were happy to head outside to relax and unwind in the cool evening air.
Overnewton Castle has a number of different sitting areas outside in the garden, gazebos, garden benches and fairy lights to decorating the venue at night. When you are looking for a venue for your engagement, birthday or even wedding, it is a good idea to book a venue that has an option for guests to head outdoors. It is another space for guests to use, they can have a chat, take a walk in the garden or even go outside and take some photos. In the unpredictable climate we are in now, outdoor space is prime real estate.
Engagement parties are like mini weddings and most couple would like to have a dance, and if guests are only permitted to dance outdoors we can still think outside the box and move the dancefloor to the exterior of the venue. The Melbourne DJ could set up under a covered area of the garden, or we can even set up inside and face our speakers out the window. Our DJs and event managers are now coming up with creative solutions to still hold a fun event.
