Lockdown 5.0

It was incredibly difficult for everyone to go through yet another lockdown recently. Just when things were looking up for Melbourne Dj Hire and the rest of the entertainment industry, Victoria went into lockdown 5.0. Our Melbourne Djs, photobooths and photographers were reshuffled to work a very busy July but on the Thursday we were all told that there will be another lockdown and 20 of our events that weekend had to be cancelled or postponed. 

Now that we have just come out of that lockdown, the restrictions have lifted to 50 people per function. Even though it seems like a large number of guests, the function scene is still a little quiet. Organisers were given a few days notice about the restrictions so it is always a little rushed to organise a party and guests in a few days. Melbourne Dj Hire had a few small scale parties but party organisers are still waiting for the next lot of restrictions to ease as guests are still not allowed to dance at the parties. 

After lockdown 5.0, it was quite obviously how dangerously contagious the delta variant was. There were a few super spreading events which made the cases spread incredibly quickly. Melbourne DJ Hire predict that face masks will be mandatory for quiet a long time. It is understandable that event organisers would like to wait until the rules around masks were lifted, however it is very likely that masks will only be allowed to come off only during meals and drinks. 

Having covid safe procedures in place is a big adjustment compared to the types of functions and freedom we are all used to. But if we abide by all these rules we will be able to safely stay open and keep the parties covid safe. All businesses in the entertainment industry can keep operating and everyone can continue to organise parties and events for special occasions.
