Second Hand party
Melbourne DJ hire play at a lot of extravagant and fancy parties every weekend. One party that Melbourne Dj Hire worked at over the weekend was decorated by a lot of paper pom poms, streamers, garlands, fancy napkins, cups and other little detailed decorations. When Melbourne DJ hire spoke to the client about the set up of the party she told us that most of the items was second hand party decorations she had found on ebay and facebook. She had spent under $100 and got table cloths, fancy straws, so many colour items to decorate the walls and cake table. If our client had purchased all these items brand new she would have easily spent over $500 going store to store to buy them.
Second hand party decorations have got to be the best way to save money when you are organizing a party. Decorations are only used for the one event, they haven’t been worn or stained so they are usually in perfect condition if you want to hang anything on the wall to pretty up your event space. People are happy to get rid of their party decorations and also make a little money off it as well. One lady organised a Hawaiian themed bridal shower for her daughter, there were 50 pineapple cups, pineapple lanterns, and floral garland. Then Melbourne Dj hires client organised a 13th birthday for her daughter who designed a pineapple themed invitation and then saw the Hawaiian themed props on Facebook’s Marketplace and snapped up the decorations for $40.
A party that our Melbourne Dj worked at had some small babies as guests and the clients organised a soft play area in the corner of the function space. The client purchased a tunnel and tent second hand off ebay and a ball pit for the babies to play in. Then after the party was finished they said that the items would be sold again.
Second hand party props and decorations are the best way to save some money and parties can easily go over budget when you include food, drinks, cake, music and photos. It also helps the environment and saves the items from going into landfill and also gives the original owners a bit of extra cash for their left over decorations.
