Budget Businesses
Melbourne DJ Hire have been running our photobooth business for 10 years now and throughout the years we have seen a number of budget photobooth companies pop up on the market. These companies advertise on Facebook and gumtree or other social platforms. Some of these companies do have very competitive pricing, however there are a number of concerns to consider when you are booking from a budget photobooth provider.
A number of these budget photobooth companies are hobby businesses, meaning they only run their business on the weekend. That could mean that they are not as responsive to enquiries or cannot keep up with finer details of the booking. It could also mean that they are not that savvy or familiar with the photobooth software so if an issue arises at the event, they may not be able to rectify it on the spot
Some people also book photobooths that are have no attendant, this would mean that the booking is significantly reduced as the company do not need to pay wages. The clients would have the privacy and freedom to run the booth themselves. Our photographers and Melbourne Djs have worked at events, where the client has booked an unattended photobooth and there have been issues that come up like the printer not printing, camera losing connection etc and it becomes very disruptive to the booking time. With these technical glitches, you will have to wait for attendant to return and fix the issue. Sometimes they are not close by to the location and guests will have to wait for them to return.
With an unattended photobooth there is also no crowd management. It is extremely important at school events to make sure everyone gets a turn using the photobooth and our staff are there to make sure students, are taking turns and not pushing in to get their photo taken.
When our attendants are at the private events where there is a guestbook, our team also ensure guests stick a photo in the guestbook and write a message. A lot of the time when the photobooth is unattended, guests will forget to put a photo in the book and walk off with their photo.
