FUNERALS – DJ HIRE MELBOURNE

This has got to be a very odd topic for a Melbourne Dj hire blog post. Melbourne djs are supposed to be blogging about celebrations and parties and happy events. But throughout the last few years our Melbourne djs have noticed a couple of caterers actually advertising their services for funerals. Instead of the actual funeral home providing refreshments like drinks and sandwiches people are now actually bringing in their own fancy catering to the funeral home or some clients are booking another space away from the funeral space to bring in their own suppliers.

The other day our Melbourne Dj was at an event that had an ice cream cart at the event and on the side of the ice cream cart was a little list of all the events they cater to and on the list was ‘funerals’. When we actually spoke to the staff they mentioned that people are actually spending quite a lot at making a funeral a memorable event. All funerals are held during the day and in summer when it is warm and sunny an ice cream is a nice refreshing treat.

There are also fancy caterers who provide catering to guests while they mingle and remember their loved one who has passed. These caterers are also advertising their funeral packages.We have also heard about photobooths being booked for funerals. If you think about it, it makes a lot of sense. A funeral is the last event held for that loved one where all extended family get together to celebrate their life. Another event where all extended family get together is a wedding. The photobooth goes mad at a wedding with family members taking the opportunity to get a photo together. So why not book a photobooth at a funeral, even hold up a photo of the loved one to celebrate their life or hold up signs that say something about the family member.We are not sure if a Melbourne Dj will ever be hired to provide music for a dance floor at funerals. But there is a step to a funeral being more of a celebration than something of mourning, so who knows what the future will bring.
