Summer Weddings- Melbourne Dj

Melbourne Dj Hire and our photobooth company Beauty and the Booth were hired to provide the entertainment at a summer wedding over the weekend. It was a blistering 34 degree day and lucky for the guests, the reception was held inside. The ceremony and canapés were served outside but there was a grand foyer where people could get some relief from the heat. 

Melbourne has had a pretty good run in terms of weather this year. We haven’t had that many days of extreme heat. But there was one Friday that was 41 degrees. Our team of Melbourne Djs were booked for a couple of weddings that day. One wedding took place at a larger reception venue with adequate cooling. The guests could park close to the reception venue and have a short walk inside. The venue was also very close to a local park where the couple and photographer can take some photos while guests could enjoy the air conditioner. 

One of the other venues our photographer worked at was at a charming local cafe which turned into a function venue on weekends. The cafe had a great design and rustic charm to it. But unfortunately it did not have adequate air condition for a 40 degree summer wedding. The interior of the function space only had the one split system unit. So the inside of the venue was actually a bit warmer than the outside of the venue during the ceremony. Towards the end of the night when it started to cool down. 

A summer wedding is a great idea, the sun is out, they skies are clear and it’s warm so people can enjoy the outdoors. But Melbourne summers are so unpredictable and heatwaves are something that you cannot for see. So if you are planning a summer wedding, ask the venue in advance of they have a system in place for days of extreme heat. It is also a good idea to ask if there is also a system in place for rain as well. Especially if you are holding your ceremony outdoors.
