Sunday Weddings

There have been a backlog of events the last couple of years with restrictions and lockdowns and couples are not having their weddings on the usual Saturday night anymore. Sunday weddings were popular before but they are even more popular now. Wedding venues are now booked out on Saturdays and most Sundays due to the backlog of weddings they have booked over the last couple of years. Some couples even choose to have their weddings on Fridays and guests will usually take the day off work to attend.

Sunday weddings have a relatively relaxed vibe. A lot of couples chose to have their Sunday weddings in the afternoon. Most venues have a lovely garden for guests to take photos in, the ceremony can also take place on site so there is minimal travelling by the guests. If the Sunday wedding is on a nice day then the guest can also roam around in the garden with their drinks and have a chat and catch up.

There are also a lot of couples who also chose to have their weddings on a Sunday night. Sunday night weddings are also another great option as guests tend to get a little wilder in the evening. There is more of a party atmosphere with drinks and dancing. Some guests even take the day off on the Monday so they can party on. Or if a few guests need to a fair bit to get home they can leave just after desserts.

The other benefit of Sunday weddings is the fact that a lot of suppliers would have availability. Our Melbourne Djs are almost always booked out on Saturdays so a lot of them have availability on Sunday, same goes for our photobooths and other performers. If there is a particular photographer or entertainer you want to lock in then chances are they will be available.
