The Brighton Savoy
The Brighton Savoy
The closing of the Brighton Savoy was sadly announced last week. Melbourne DJ Hire has worked at the grand venue hundreds of times and has always had a great experience with the venue and its staff. The Brighton Savoy has a stunning location and is situated in front of Brighton Beach, it was a photographers dream to be able to take the couple and bridal party across the road and take some stunning photos by the water.
The Brighton Savoy offered a number of different function spaces, a ballroom which was suitable for just over 100 people, medium size room which a view of the beach which was suitable for 70 – 100 guests and a smaller intimate space which was perfect for a wedding of under 60 people.
Some of these rooms also have an outdoor courtyard which was perfect for couples to hold their wedding ceremony. One of Melbourne DJ Hire’s clients held their ceremony in the courtyard and after the ceremony was finished, guest made their way in the room where they were seated immediately. Meals came out shortly after and the whole wedding was finished within 4 hours that afternoon.
We really do hope that a buyer comes along and purchases the Brighton Savoy, it will be a big investment but we are sure that the return will be worth it. Once Melbourne finally opens up, there will be a lot of couples who would be looking to book a venue to hold their events, a lot of schools and businesses would also be looking to hold a celebration.
A year ago, the Brighton International also closed its doors as the property was sold to a developer. With the closing of 2 iconic function venues in Melbourne’s South East there isn’t a lot of choice for couples who are looking to hold a wedding in the area. Luckily there are still 3 venues in the Elsterwick and Ripponlea area but they may be at a different price point.
