Weekday Weddings

Melbourne DJ Hire have noticed that a lot of couples are now booking their weddings on a weekday. We know that in 2022 there was a huge backlog of weddings and couples who had to reschedule their weddings couldn’t get a lot of dates as a lot of venues were booked out. Melbourne DJ Hire were working at weddings on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for a while. But since a lot of venues have fulfilled all their wedding dates, we have still noticed the trend of more and more couples booking their weddings on a weekday. 

The main reason is that it is a lot cheaper to book your event on a weekday, all venues and vendors will have a premium rate on a Saturday evening as it is the most popular day to hold an event, so couples will be paying a premium price for the venue, Melbourne Dj, photobooth and all the other suppliers. Fridays and Sundays would have a slightly cheaper rate and a lot of couples do pick those days to have their weddings. 

But what we are noticing is that couple are now moving their weddings to a Wednesday or Thursday. Some couples pick a Thursday before a long weekend so their guests can take an extra-long weekend and some couples just pick a weekday because it is a lot cheaper. They save money on the venue hire and they can use those savings on other contractors like their photographer, photobooth, Melbourne DJ or even upgrade their meals packages. 

Having your wedding on a weekday is a great way to save money, the only issue is that it is an inconvenience to your guests to have to take the day off work but if you are having a small intimate wedding with close family and friends everyone would love the idea of taking the day off for your big day.
