80th Bday
Melbourne DJ Hire were booked to provide a Melbourne party Dj and open photobooth for a joint 80th birthday over the weekend. The party was set in the afternoon and went on for 4 hours. The party was organised by the children for both their parents who happened to have their birthdays very close to each other.
The guestlist was filled with friends from their local social clubs, some old friends from back at school and of course some relatives and family. The daughter who was also the host of the party made sure that all guests had to take a photo in the photobooth and write a message in the guest book. At the start of the day, all the 80 year olds were a little reluctant to take more photos in the photobooth but after they had a few more drinks and got into the party spirit they really enjoyed the photobooth and asked if they could take more group photos in the photobooth.
The 4 hour event was broken up into a few sections. At first the finger food was brought out, then the children of the birthday parents organised a fun trivia slide show showing photos of the parents and asking the crowd questions about the birthday people. Then there were prizes given to the guests who scored the most points. Then after the trivia was finished, there were speeches from all the children, a few of the grandchildren, old friends and of course, the birthday parents made a speech too.
Our Melbourne DJ Marco was also kept busy, as the senior guests got up to dance after the speeches had finished. We played a lot of old throw backs like Elvis, Abba and Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline got everyone up and singing along. The guests had plenty of space to get up and have a dance and everyone commented on how much they loved all the music that DJ Marco played.
