Over the past few years, 13th birthday parties have become more and more popular and Melbourne Dj Hire are booked for these parties a few times a month. A number of parents decide to throw a big get together to celebrate their child’s first teenage years. The kids are independent and have fun eating and having fun with their friends. Parents will still need to set up some activities for the children to entertain themselves, but it is an age where parents can just sit back for a chat and let their kids roam the party themselves.
Over the weekend our Melbourne DJ and open photobooth were hired for a small party where the clients hired an inflatable dance projector screen. It was a large inflatable screen which came with a projector and speakers so the client could connect their laptop and project a dance tutorial game for the kids to learn. This game was called Just Dance and it got everyone involved on the dancefloor. As the screen was connected to a laptop, YouTube with karaoke and was also used by some guests.
Another great idea for a 13th birthday is also a candy bar. At almost every teenage party, we regularly see a candy bar set up where the kids can go over and pick and choose all the goodies they can have. Some parents set up some donuts or desserts and some even go the healthy option and set up some fruit platters for a healthier option.
A fun extension to the lolly station is a chocolate fountain. We see guests of all ages, enjoy the sweet goodness of dipping their skewered creations into the chocolate fountain.
One activity we recently saw at a 13th birthday was temporary tattoos and mermaid gems. The parents had set up a table with a range of these fun tattoos and the kids had all a great time, applying the artwork onto each other. Stick on mermaid gemstones were another great we have never seen before and it was really popular if you have a group of girls at the party.
