Organizing Your Speech
Melbourne DJ Hire worked at a 21st birthday over the weekend where the speeches took a little long and it was overall a little unorganised and at times very awkward. The client had a small number of speakers and all the speeches were actually nice and short but the mum ended up wanting to move the cake table and other bar tables to another spot in the middle of the speeches. A few guests had to move the cake table and hold the cake and also move another table out the way.
When you are in the middle of the speeches, you have everyone’s undivided attention at the party. So it is best to have all the cakes and speeches in the right location so the guests are not standing around and helping move tables and cakes. Discuss with the Melbourne about the best spot to stand so there isn’t a lot of feedback from the mic. Or you can even ask the photographer the best place to stand for a nice backdrop.
The mother of the birthday boy also had some videos and speeches from relatives who were overseas. These videos were sent to the mother via email and when she tried to access these videos on her laptop (which was connected to the projector screen) it didn’t work as it needed internet connection. When you need to play a video at a party, it is best to have the clip already downloaded and ready to go so you can just press play. If you have a few different clips you can even open up all the clips in different windows and have them set up and ready for you to press play.
So if you are planning a speech with a few different components it is best to have them all ready and set up to go once you gather all your guests together. It stops any awkward silences and helps everything run smoothly.
