Formal Events
It is coming to the season where schools are organizing their school formals, just this weekend alone Melbourne Dj Hire have been booked for 2 school formals. We send our Melbourne DJ, Photobooth and a lot of the times we send a photographer to these formals as well. A photobooth is always great fun and the students love jumping in and getting some shots, but it is also great to have a roaming photographer walking around the room capturing moments between students and teachers.
Our roaming photographer starts shooting the event when students arrive and we capture moments where the students are hugging and smiling and greeting each other. We also capture a lot of photos of the students with their teachers. At the start of the formal students are always obsessed with taking photos and getting a photo with their formal date and a photo of their outfit. Then during the night they are happy to mingle and have a chat with all their friends and get on the dance floor to enjoy the music played by our Melbourne DJ. This is why hiring a photographer for the formal is so important, so that moments throughout the formal are also captured.
A photobooth is just as important than a photographer. The students have a nice backdrop to pose in front of and also props where they can be silly in. Then the photobooth will print out some photostrips for the students to take as a memento. For Year 12 students it is especially great idea as this will be their final year of study with these peers before they move on to Uni or work.
Formals are also a great opportunity for the schools to get some house and club photos. Since all the students are at the event and dressed up, the school likes to get group photos of each of the houses, also some special clubs like sports or arts. Some teachers also take advantage of Melbourne Dj Hire’s photographer and gets a group photo of their class.
The Melbourne DJ then plays all the hit tracks that the students request and get the dance floor happening for the whole night. It is overall a great night and both students and teachers have a good time and have a lot of photos to look back on at the end of the function.
