Overnewton Castle
Over the weekend, Melbourne DJ Hire sent our team of 3 to service a wedding at majestic Overnewton Castle in Keilor. We sent our Melbourne DJ who also doubled as the MC, we sent our roaming photographer and also sent our photobooth to entertain the kids at the event.
It may be hard to believe but old fashioned looking Overnewton Castle is only a 20 minute drive from the city and very close to the airport. Our clients, stayed overnight at the estate and were able to get ready on the premises as Overnewton Castle also has a range of accommodation on site. This means that couples and their family don’t need to get ready at their houses and then also hire a limo or car to get to the reception. Coordinating a big family on a wedding day is hard enough and if everyone is at the same place at the one time it makes life a little easier. The bride and her bridesmaids and flower girls all stayed at a cottage on the premises and the groom and his groomsmen also stayed at another on site cottage.
The castle is rich in photography locations and there are endless spots for amazing photo shoots. The face of the castle is grand and half covered with a vertical vine wall, the other side of the venue is framed with a stunning stone porch and fairy lights. The gardens are full of colourful blooms and grand old trees, there really is an endless supply of photography locations. Not only is the exterior of the castle great for photography hotspots but the interior of the castle also has an abundance of photography spots. There is an antique looking spiral staircase where the bride and groom and photographer are allowed to access and our photographer took a stunning photo at a very different perspective. Overnewton Castle is also full of old fashioned looking hallways with red oak window frames, gold framed paintings and chandeliers. Our photographer got to capture a nice little photo in one of the hallway.
Overnewton Castle was such a great venue to work it, not only was it stunning and impressive but there were also a lot of different spaces for the guests to relax and explore in. The kids got to run around in the garden, the families got to walk around the venue and take some great photos. The reception space is on the small size so if you would like to hold a wedding, the maximum number that Overnewton Castle could cater to is 120 people. The wedding that Melbourne DJ Hire serviced was for 70 guests and the Melbourne DJ had ample space to set up his gear and our photobooth also had an allocated area to set up as well.
