Local Council Venues
Melbourne DJ Hire have had a number of bookings come through for functions held at local council venues. These venues have ample space for social distancing and capacity restrictions and they also have the flexibility for event organisers to set up the space to their desire.
We are working at a joint belated birthday party at a local council venue this weekend. The client had to postpone their 21st birthday last year and was planning a 22nd birthday this year but unfortunately, they were unable to hold their event. Now that Melbourne has opened up, it is one of their parents 50th birthday so they have decided to throw a big belated 22nd and 50th birthday with their friends and family.
The family have organised a Melbourne DJ and one of our roaming photographers to take photos at the party. A lot of local council venues have stages already set up in their building, it is a great inclusion especially if there is going to be a performance or presentation at your event. A stage is also the perfect set up for the Melbourne Djs to set up, they can see the entire dancefloor and their lights can project onto the whole space.
Another reason why a lot of clients decide to hold their events at local council venues is that there is an option to bring in your choice of caterer. A lot of these council buildings and halls have a large-scale commercial kitchen which is perfect for prepping food for hundreds of people. Some clients like the option of hiring their own caterer as it can be cheaper than using the in-house catering at the function venue. Some clients even bring in their own food and ask family members to prepare the food in the kitchen.
So if you have event coming up and are struggling to book in a function venue at a restaurant or bistro then try enquiring at a local council venue, they are very affordable and seem like there is still some availability.
