Winter Events – Dj Hire
Melbourne Dj hire have learnt a thing or two about working at an event in the cold winter months. There really isn’t much of a party atmosphere or lively mood. Our photobooth company was hired for an outdoor event at Melbourne University for some students and it was during sunset, it was a cold and windy 13 degree afternoon and organisers were not sure if guests would be turning up.
Because this winter event was held on a windy afternoon, banners and signs were falling and breaking, balloons were flying everywhere. Melbourne Dj Hire was meant to set up a curtain backdrop for the photos but it was just windy and the curtain would fly off and fall over. We made the decision to use the balloons that were in the event colours. We then tied them to the marquee and used them to decorate the photos.
During a winter party or event. If you are hold the event outdoors then a space where there is shelter is necessary just in the chain of it raining. It is also a good space to set up a few gas heaters, you will find that a lot of people will congregate around the heater to escape the cold. Another very popular way to keep guests warm is a bomb fire, of course this will have to be at a private house event. Our Melbourne djs have worked at a lot of winter events where a bomb fire has been set up. People on the dance floor warm up very quickly because they are moving around but guests who are standing or sitting and having a chat do get cold very quickly.
Winter events can be a huge success. Not many events are organised in the colder months and people do like to get out for some fun and activities. So if you are planning a winter event make sure there is shelter in case of rain and also think about organising some outdoor heating to make your guests
