St Andrews Conservatory – DJs
Over the weekend Melbourne Dj Hire was booked to provide a Melbourne Dj and also our roaming photography service to an engagement party at the St Andrews Conservatory. The venue is a beautiful function space behind the St Andrews Hotel which is a pub on Nicholson St in Fitzroy. The St Andrews Conservatory is a glass building with glass walls and ceiling magically decorated with hanging lit up lanterns. It was an impressive site when you entered the building and a photographers delight as everywhere you turned there was a beautiful backdrop.
The St Andrews Conservatory also has their in house speaker system so our Melbourne Dj could hook up our system into that and start playing. The bonus of having a venue with their in house sound system is that you can also play music from an iPhone or tablet as well. For some events that run a lot longer say a wedding where there is a ceremony beforehand, the clients can plug in their iPhone and play some light background music. Then when the reception starts, the Melbourne Dj can start.
Location wise, it is a venue that is rich in photography backdrops. Not only is the venue ceiling decorated in lit up lanterns, there are also LED lit up trees that frame the windows. Across the road from St Andrews Conservatory is the Fitzroy gardens and also the Melbourne museum and the Royal Exhibition is a short walk away. Being Fitzroy the back streets and alleyways are filled with cobble stone roads and graffiti walls, perfect for photo shoots.
Melbourne Dj Hire would highly recommend St Andrews Conservatory for a wedding or engagement. We have even worked at the venue for a University Ball and have taken great photos there. It’s a very pretty venue in a great accessible location just a stone throw from the CBD and it is right in front of a tram stop. Your guests won’t be disappointed at all.
