Yule Ball – Dj Hire
Melbourne Dj hires photobooth company Beauty and the Booth were lucky enough to get hired by The Yule Ball committee to provide a photobooth and also 3 roaming photographers for their annual ball. The Yule ball is the ball in the 4th Harry Potter book where 3 different schools come together for the triwizard tournament. 3 University’s in Melbourne came together to organise this amazing ball, one group from La Trobe, one from Monash and one from Melbourne University.
There were 600 students who attended the ball so that’s why 3 photographers were booked. Our photographers made sure that they were always in different corners of the room to make sure we could capture everyone at the ball. We also delegated one photographer to focus on details of the ball like decorations and candid photos while the other 2 focused on group shots and photos on the dance floor.
A Melbourne Dj was also hired to play some popular commercial and old school tracks for the guests. The Yule Ball committee had hired a smoke machine, a bubble machine and a lot of lights. The bubble machine was something really different that the guests loved dancing in and was very appropriate to the magical theme. It meant that our photographers could also capture great shots of guests dancing in bubbles on the dance floor.
The organisers also booked a photobooth from Melbourne Dj hire’s photobooth company and also a gif booth from another company. It was the perfect number of photobooth entertainment for the amount of people, there was never a very long queue to wait for a photo. A 5 minute wait to take a photo is quite reasonable. There have been balls that we have worked at where the guests are waiting 10 or more minutes to take a photo and that is quite a long time because you are missing part of the night by waiting in line.
The Yule Ball was a great event, the organisers did a great job planning this event. The Melbourne Dj played the right sort of tracks, there were plenty of photographers around to capture moments and enough entertainment to keep the guests busy. If you are a Harry Potter fan and also a uni student, the Yule Ball is definitely something you have to experience.
