DJ Start Times
Melbourne DJ Hire worked at a 21st birthday over the weekend where the clients had asked us to start the booking a little later than in the night. They had requested our Melbourne DJ to set up earlier and then leave their equipment idle until an hour into the event. It was a 4 hour booking and the dance floor was getting busy all the way til 12.30am.
If you expect a slow start to your event then having a late DJ start time could be a good solution for you. Some clients have the idea to have the Melbourne DJ start at a later time so you can prolong the dancing period of towards the end of the night. But do bear in mind that Melbourne Dj Hire does charge extra for an idle time. Our Djs could set up prior to your guests arriving so the set up is not disruptive to the party environment, then we would charge the client an idle time to have the Dj on standby until the client would like the music to be played. Alternatively, if it is logistically possible with the venue we could also set up earlier that day and return to the venue before the start time.If you are concerned about the room being silent at the start of the night, don’t be. Most venues will have a sound and speaker system where they can play some background music to make sure their isn’t an awkward silence at your party. During the start of the night, guests would also be warming up into the event and are focused on chatting and catch up with friends, so there isn’t any dancing during that time of night anyway. The once the Melbourne DJ arrives an hour or 2 hours into the party, guests would have already settled in, they would have had a couple of drinks and be happy and eager for a dance.
