Organizing A Great School Formal
Melbourne DJ Hire work at formals all the time, our Djs and photographers are getting booked for formals as early as January. The schools organise a lot of Year 12 Formals at the start of the year so the formal does not interfere with the studies of the students. These formals are usually organised by the teachers who might not have a lot of experience in organising events. Most university balls are also organised by a student committee who may not have a background in event planning.
To organise a great formal or ball, you obviously have to have a Melbourne DJ to play music during the dance break, but you should also book a roaming photographer to capture photos of students in the outfits. All students would love photos with their friends as most of them have spent a lot of time creating their outfits. A photobooth is another great option to add to your event as it adds a fun element to the night and guests are also able to take the photostrip home as a physical memento. If you have a lot of attendees at your event, we would suggest booking the photobooth for a longer period of time or in some cases where there are over 500 people we would suggest booking 2 photobooths so that there isn’t a constant line at the photobooth and guests are not waiting 20minutes for a photo.
Our roaming photographers would also suggest setting up a spot for guests to take photos, some venues even have nice walls and curtains students can pose against, but if there isn’t a nice spot then we would suggest setting up a photography area. Something as simple as a flower wall or a balloon garland set up would be a great spot for guests to pose for a photo.
In terms of music, Our Melbourne Djs play a mix of songs including popular top 40 tracks, some old school Rnb, retro remixes and of course we play some sing alongs as well.
