Themed Dress Up Parties

Melbourne Dj Hire worked at a 50th birthday over the weekend where the theme was to dress up in something beginning with B which was the first letter of the birthday girl’s name. The birthday girl and her husband dressed up as Beetlejuice and there were many other creative characters that showed up as well. And since it was a themed dress up party, the client made sure that she booked a photographer to capture all the special moments throughout the night and to take photos of all the amazing costumes. 

Themed dress up parties are always lots of fun as the excitement and planning comes long before the party even starts. Guests are thinking about their costumes months before the party comes around and get really excited brainstorming what to wear and what will match their partners outfit. They also get very silly and funny when it comes to posing for photos, our roaming photographer didnt even have to prompt guests to pose for silly photos, they just naturally did it. 

A lot of popular choices were bees, butterflies, James Bond was also a popular option. Some very creative costumes included Mr Bean, Bob Marley, Beauty and the Beast and Men in Black. One couple even came as ballroom dancers. When everyone arrived, the birthday girl was so excited to see their costumes and it really got people in the party mood a lot quicker. Guests were talking to each other about their costumes and it was a good way to break the ice between strangers. 

Themed dress up parties are usually full of fun and dancing. Our Melbourne Dj, got the crowd going as soon as speeches finished by playing popular tracks from the 70s and 80s. The birthday girl’s mum and dad and older relatives were there as well so our Melbourne Dj played a lot of popular throwbacks so all ages groups can have a dance.
