A year since covid
It is hard to believe that it has been a year since Covid. Melbourne DJ Hire were looking through our archives of jobs and came across a couple of weddings that our team of Melbourne Djs and photographers worked at. One of them being Ash and Paul’s wedding at Norwood House in Mt Eliza. Our photographer remembered joking to the bridal party about stocking up on toilet paper during the photoshoot. Who would have thought that after a year we would still be living through this pandemic?
Even though the shops had been cleared of all these essential supplies, there were no restrictions on social distancing and masks and hand hygiene at this wedding that was held at the start of March. The event carried on as per usual with finger food displayed on the tables, and a candy buffet. There was no limit on how many people could be on the dancefloor. If you look at the events that took place a few weeks later in late March, there was a huge contrast in relation to hand sanitising, social distancing and how many people could attend the event based on the size of the venue. Melbourne DJ Hire provided a photobooth to a wedding on the 25th of March and we were still putting out props for guests to use, but we were sanitising them after each use. But guests were still careful to sanitise their hands after using the photobooth and before eating their meals.
A year since Covid, Melbourne DJ Hire and our partnering photobooth company Beauty and the Booth have put in a lot of safety measures to keep party guest safe at events. Our Melbourne DJs make sure that the mics are sanitised after every use, we are also in regular contact with the Department of Health Services to get advice on how to operate the photobooth business. We have stopped using props for now as they are a high touch communal item and could potentially spread covid if a guests were to be infected. Melbourne Dj Hire are trying to be as safe as possible so that we can continue working and keep providing a top and safe service to our clients.
