Fitzroy Town Hall
Melbourne DJ Hire were booked to provide a Melbourne DJ and a roaming photographer for a wedding on Sunday at the Fitzroy Town Hall. Our talented roaming photographer was there to capture photos of the ceremony and candid photos of guests and also some shots of the couple in front of the iconic building. Then after the ceremony was finished, the guests made their way into the big hall where the reception took place.
The Fitzroy Town Hall was an all inclusive building that seemed like it was made for a wedding. It had a large dining hall with a stage, it had a room for a ceremony and there were so many locations a photographer could take some couple shots. Even inside the venue there were some amazing spaces, rooms and vintage styled architecture that was a great backdrop for photos. The steps of the Town Hall were grand and epic with large pillars that framed the building, our roaming photographer saw couples come to the town hall just to take some photos.
The reception space was large. It was a hall that could fit 200 people in a sit down dinner, and 500 people for a cocktail event. There was a grand stage where our Melbourne DJ set up and it was framed with matching velvet curtains, and the whole room had a vintage Victorian colour scheme with timber architraves and wall art.
Our clients, brought in their own catering. There was a paella caterer who set up her paella pans in the commercial kitchen and brought out a buffet of paella and salads. The bride and groom also set up their own dessert table where her close family and friends brought some home made desserts to serve to all the guests.
The Fitzroy town hall is definitely a hidden gem in the back streets of Fitzroy. It is definitely worth a visit if you are on that side of town, or even if you are getting married in the area and would like some amazing architectural shots.
