New Wedding Trend
Melbourne Dj Hire sent out our Melbourne DJ and open photobooth to Leonda by the Yarra over the weekend. The wedding was a semi large scale event with a guestlist of over 120 people. The couple had hired a duo package from us as well as an external wedding photography and videography team and a dry ice and fireworks display for the couples first dance.
Everything seemed to go ahead as the usual wedding celebrations with canapes, a three course meal, first dance, cake cutting etc. But towards the last hour of the night, the venue started setting up a hot chips section. That’s right, this is the new wedding trend! There was a hot chips buffet at the end of the room! The venue brought out a range of different styles of hot chips and on the side of the display were a range of different toppings like sour cream, chillies, grated cheese and different sauces. By this time our Melbourne DJ had the dancefloor really going and guests could easily, hop out to the dancefloor to fill their bowl with hot chips and come back onto the dancefloor to eat their chips while dancing. It was such a cool idea.
We have seen some other bride and grooms organise something similar at their weddings as well. A few weeks ago our photographer captured a wedding where the bride and groom ordered a bulk of McDonalds cheeseburgers and fries to hand out to guests towards the end of the night. I guess the whole idea of this new wedding trend is for guests who have been drinking and partying to then be able to enjoy some greasy food and get back to partying. So if you think there will be a number of heavy drinkers at your wedding then a late night Maccas run or a hot chips buffet could be an extra idea to put on your wedding to do list.
