Wedding Ceremony
Melbourne DJ Hire worked at a wedding over the weekend where the couple can changed their plans for their wedding ceremony just a few days prior to the wedding. The original plan was to have the ceremony at the botanical gardens but it was forecasted to rain, therefore the couple decided to have their ceremony at their reception venue.
Most venues will have some sort of ceremony set up, they already have the chairs and the space, the clients may just have to hire an arbour or arch set up so that there is a nice backdrop for the photos. The venue we worked at over the weekend had a nice drape and fairy light backdrop which was the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. After the wedding ceremony is finished, the venue just have to rearrange the room, and usually there is a deck or outdoor area where the guests can go out to have some drinks and canapes while they wait to go into the reception.
Usually, our Melbourne DJs don’t start our set until the start of the reception, but there have been a few occasions where the client has asked us to start during the ceremony. If we are playing during the ceremony, we will work with the celebrant to coordinate the music with all the formalities. Then after the ceremony is finished we can still play background music for the guests to enjoy. This will usually work better in a cocktail style wedding where the venue doesn’t have to set up table settings.
So if you are planning an outdoor wedding ceremony in Melbourne, it is best to have a back up plan in case the weather turns bad. Before you pick your venue, ask them what their wet weather option is. Some venues might have a cover for their outdoor deck area, some venues will just reconfigure the venue space, but it is best to make sure there is a wet weather option.
