Outdoor Wedding
Melbourne DJ Hire are expecting to see a lot of outdoor weddings and events take place in the upcoming year due to all the Covid 19 safety regulations. We have also blogged a lot about how you can make your afternoon or outdoor wedding memorable by hiring board games, gelato cart or a cocktail bar. But one very tricky part about holding an outdoor event is the unpredictable weather we have in Melbourne, even though it is summer, it could still be raining, or cold or uncomfortably hot.
Our suggestion for planning an outdoor wedding is to have a plan B in place if the weather is going to be an issue. Venues like ‘The Baxter Barn’ has an amazing outdoor space decorated with hanging lights and it is ideal for a summer nights wedding. But they also have a smaller barn style function room where couples can hold a small seated 50-person event and a large covered patio area where guests can take shelter in case it rains or if the summer sun is too strong on the day.
A lot of venues do offer an option of setting up a marquee in the event of rain, but that is usually an added cost to the couple. So if you are planning an outdoor event, it is in your best interest to keep in mind the possibility of bad weather and if there is a building or some kind of shelter you could use as plan B. The same thing applies if you are planning to hold your ceremony outdoors, it is best to make sure there is another space you can use in case it rains on the day.
Melbourne DJ Hire worked at an afternoon outdoor wedding last weekend where they had set up a marquee for the Melbourne Dj and photobooth to set up but then it start to rain very slowly and a lot of the guests ended up taking shelter in the marquee and ended up dancing. Luckily for the wedding couple, the rain didn’t last a long time but it was a great idea to have set up a marquee.
