Surprise Weddings

Melbourne DJ Hire is sending one of our wedding DJs to a surprise wedding this weekend. Surprise weddings are getting more and popular as couples are now choosing to throw smaller sized weddings. A lot of these surprise weddings start off as birthday parties or engagement parties in disguise. One of our surprise weddings started off as a christening for a baby. Once all the guests arrive, the bride and groom make a speech and a celebrant takes the mic and surprises everyone. 

Our Melbourne DJ is booked to provide the music for the ceremony and event and also play any special songs that the couple would like played during the cake cutting, first dance or any other formalities. Our photographer is there to capture the special reaction from the guests once the wedding is announced. These priceless expressions are what the bride and groom really look for and love because once they announce the wedding, they are usually looking at each other or about to walk down the isle so they rarely get the time to look at everyone’s face. During this shot period of time our photographers position themselves in front of the guests and quickly snap away at as many people as they can.

Once the announcement of the surprise is over, our photographer will then start shooting the ceremony and vows like a normal wedding booking. Our talented photographers will also take the bride and groom to a nice spot to capture some couple shots for them to print off or send to family. 

Surprise weddings are usually very low key and casual. After the ceremony, guests will usually mingle with each other and have some food, then guests will usually get up for a dance and that is when the party really starts and the Melbourne DJ can have some fun with music selection. Some bride and grooms also book in a photobooth from Melbourne DJ Hire to complete the package and have something fun and different to entertain their guests.
