Victoria’s Rise of Covid Numbers
Melbourne Dj Hire were ready to start our first gig in 3 months this Friday. When some restrictions were lifted a few weeks ago, a lot of clients had gotten in touch with Melbourne Dj Hire to start planning their event. Then earlier in the week, there was an announcement made about Victoria’s rise of Covid numbers, every day the numbers have increased slightly, and the public are starting to worry. At the start of this pandemic we saw toilet paper and paper towels cleared off the shelves, fights breaking out in supermarket isles because of the shortage of supplies, then as soon as we started to see the shelves return to normal another outbreak hits our state.
Victoria’s rise of Covid numbers is a significant setback to Melbourne Dj Hire and many more suppliers within the entertainment and hospitality industry. A lot of venues, and contractors would have been ready to get back to work within a few weeks, restaurants, clubs, and pubs had ordered more food stock to cater for the scheduled lifting of restrictions earlier this week. The next stage of the lifting of restrictions would allow 50 people to enter a venue, this new rule meant that our Melbourne Djs could get back to playing at events. Though 50 people isn’t a big party, it is large enough to invite your closest family and friends to get together in one place and have a celebration.
South Australia and Western Australia have started opening clubs, there is a 75 person limit gathering number in South Australia and a 100 person limit in Western Australia. It took those states 3 months of hard work to get to where they are and if all Victorians could do the right thing and to stay at home, practice good hygiene and to social distance we could also be looking at larger scale gatherings in a couple of months. The whole industry is really counting on everyone in Victoria to do the right thing soon so we can start getting back to work.
