Melbourne DJ Hire service a lot of different types of companies and we have been through years and years of Christmas parties, awards nights and other functions with the same crowd. The best thing about seeing the same people at all these different functions is observing how each event can be different based on the type of venue. Picking the right venue for your event can be tricky if you have not had a company function before, if your crowd are more chill then a lunchtime event with a casual seated set up would be perfect, if you have a large group of dancers and party people then you would definitely need a DJ and large dancefloor.
Our Melbourne DJs works for an education based IT company and the last few years the party planners, had organised their events to be held at quite spacious, formal style venues. While it wasn’t a formal sit down event, it was still an open reception like set up. But this year the organisers decided to do something different and hold there Christmas party at a bar/club style set up. The function was held at Fargo & Co, which is a very trendy bar and restaurant in Richmond. The function was also split into 3 levels, the bottom level was the dancefloor and bar, the second level was an open terrace which also had a bar and the 3rd level was a lounge area which had the photobooth and balloon backdrop.
This multi level venue was definitely the right venue for the crowd. It was a relatively big group with over 300 people and there are a mix of different people, and everyone had an option on where to hang out. The people who loved to dance and party were on the ground floor dancing, the older crowd were in the open terrace enjoying a drink and enjoying the sunset and a lot of people came up to the 3rd level to take photos in the photo booth and also chill out in the lounges.
